WhatsApp 8-Person Group Video Calling Now Available to Everyone

With the update to WhatsApp version 2.20.50, Facebook is freeing up video calling for all users with up to 8 participants, including us. As we discovered a couple of weeks ago in the beta version of the app, the application doubles the capacity of group conversations.

The operation of the video call system remains the same, we simply touch the camera button in a group conversation, which will now appear in chats of up to eight people, including us. In order to make a call to eight people, all of them must have the latest version of the application.

While 8 people seems a more appropriate limitation than 4, it should be remembered that if we need to call more participants we have at our disposal alternatives such as FaceTime, Zoom or Skype, among many others. Alternatives that, in addition, offer functions such as virtual backgrounds, screen sharing, etc.
